Winter 2025 Session Newsletter
Spartans Aquatics
Welcome swimmers to our Winter 2025 session! We as coaches want to see our swimmers succeed both in and outside of the pool. Spartans coaches want to make sure that swimmers feel safe and included at all times. Coaches are expected to not be on their phones during practice and to focus on their groups fully. If parents, guardians, or swimmers have any concerns or positive comments about our coaches please reach out to us, our head coach or club admin!
The key to your swimmer’s success at practice: To succeed at practice, swimmers must bring goggles, a water bottle, and an appropriately fitting swimsuit. Although swimmers can be successful without a swimming cap it is still suggested that swimmers bring and wear one as it helps with swimmers’ visibility and drag reduction in the pool. Coaches can help swimmers with their caps before practice and any adjustments with their goggles.
Your swimmer must show up to practice with their required equipment. Our coaches understand that mistakes happen and swimmers may forget their goggles or water bottles.
Some coaches bring extra goggles, but please don’t rely on them to supply your swimmer with them every practice. If your swimmer does have long hair and does not want to wear a swim cap please make sure they come to practice with hair ties so they can put their hair up and out of their face.
Late policy: Spartans Aquatics understands that everyone has busy schedules, if swimmers come in late to practice that is not an issue! Swimmers please still be respectful when coming in late, but still know your coach will understand.
As coaches do take attendance every practice swimmers giving their coaches a heads up if they will be gone is much appreciated but not a requirement.
Photos and Videos during practice: At registration, all parents sign a media waiver giving or not giving consent for their swimmer. We as coaches are aware of swimmers who do not consent. We understand that parents or guardians may want to take photos and videos of your swimmer during practice or swim events. As this is encouraged, we ask to please be mindful of who is in your photo or video. Coaches and other swimmers may not feel comfortable having their media taken while they are in the pool or on deck. Please be mindful of this. If you have any questions please ask a coach or club admin before posting to social media.
Parent seating: We encourage parents, guardians, and family members to stay and watch your swimmers practice. Please make sure you find seats in the viewing area and not on deck during practice.
Member Board: We are looking for board members for different positions. You do not need to be previously trained in these areas. We are currently looking for a Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Bingo Coordinator. We try to meet every other month. We are involved in the hiring process and other decisions that affect the club. Please consider becoming a part of the board as it will help the longevity of the club!
Bingos: A majority of the funds that keep our club running come from participating in Bingos. These funds cover the costs of pool rentals, coaches’ wages, advertising, swim club events etc
Mini Meets: Spartans host a mini meet usually at the end of every session. Mini meets are a fun event for swimmers to look forward to and get a taste of what an actual swim meet would be like! As we move through every session we have milestones to meet to help prepare swimmers to execute their skills at mini-meets. This includes proper dives, strokes, and turns. When sign-ups come around for mini-meets please encourage your swimmer to sign up. Even if you have a swimmer in the Minis they can still sign up! We need and encourage parents to volunteer with our Mini Meets. Your energy and help make this a fun and successful experience for our swimmers and club. to
